We invite you to draw from Te Ao Māori to bring your strengths and passion for people to your work and to Mangatawa.

We’re looking for an experienced people leader to join our team as our General Manager. This is a new role to support the organisation’s growth and development. You’ll be responsible for building a strengths-based, values-led, and performance-oriented team to support the CEO in achieving our strategic objectives through our people.

Do work that’s meaningful.
Be part of a purpose-driven organisation cultivating and developing wellbeing for our whanau and communities. Make a difference through your work by sharing your gifts to grow our team and provide great value to our shareholders.

Make a unique contribution.
We’re inviting you to bring your own unique approach to ensuring that the lessons and traditions of the past are recognised and upheld while we work towards fulfilling our vision of the future.

Develop your leadership while growing talent.
Grow and develop as a leader as you support development opportunities for our kaimahi. We’re taking a strengths-based approach to people leadership and development and invite you to value and develop your own natural talents while building the strengths within our team.

These strengths represent threads of continuity between traditional Māori ideals of successful leadership and leadership practices of today. We invite you to draw from Te Ao Māori to bring these five strengths to your work and to Mangatawa.

  • Mauri Ora – creating wellbeing.
  • Whanaungatanga – having a whānau-based approach to work.
  • Tangata Whakapapa – embracing the wholeness of people.
  • Hūmārie – practicing humility and cultivating leadership in others.
  • Tuākana-Teina – creating effective succession through mentoring.

  • Engagement and wellbeing of our kaimahi.
  • Performance of our administration, orchard, housing, and farm teams.
  • Delivery of our operations team annual plan.

We’re committed to kaitiakitanga (sustainable practices) and rangatiratanga (strong leadership) and are guided by our whakapapa (genealogy) and whanaungatanga (hospitality). We work in alignment with our values of manaakitanga (respect and care), mahi tahi (collaborate and working together) and whakanui (celebrate and honour).
